Title: Round 1 Suggestion: The Scan after installing!
Post by: Rupesh Joshi on October 15, 2015, 05:43:43 PM
As I installed the beta app its started the scan and is taking a lot of time to finish, Which might be boring and time consuming for some users.

It doesn't hog ram or CPU while scanning so it can be don't on background but takes lots of time to complete, so a quick scan might do better..

Thanks/Regards

Hi R.K.Joshi,

Kindly refer to SecureAPlus support page to get a better understanding of our Full System Scan: http://support.secureaplus.com/initial-full-system-scan-explained/  ;)

We understand it may be boring and time consuming but it's definitely going to be worth it!  :)

It seems to largely keep CPU utilisation around 50%; however, I get spikes of all cores at 100%, making the system sluggish/unresponsive.  This would be no big deal if it didn't take hours.

Hence, a throttle setting might be nice with "minimise system impact" on the left and "prioritise scan" on the right or something similar.

Most every installer will have some idea as to whether or not the system being installed to is likely infected.
Why not give a choice to the installer of a Quick or Full scan of the system during the initial install?  :o

We will take this into consideration. Also, the way you phrased the options might make more sense to most users rather than simply keeping the option to speed types.

Offering this as an option might further increase the time it takes for the initialization to be finished. But I do understand where you are coming from so we will consider including this as an optional step if it makes sense operationally.

We appreciate the feedback, so keep them coming! It might take us awhile to respond but we are definitely listening.
