BSOD / Reboot
(1/1)
Maupassant:
So, my PC froze this evening.
I had to restart it manually.
While it was restarting, I had a BSOD.
Here is the WhoCrashed analysis :
On Thu 07-01-21 11:01:07 PM your computer crashed or a problem was reported
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP
This was probably caused by the following module: saappctl.sys (0xFFFFF807468299A8)
Bugcheck code: 0x7E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF807468299A8, 0xFFFFA088A4F67558, 0xFFFFA088A4F66D90)
Error: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\saappctl.sys
product: SecureAPlus
description: Application Whitelisting Driver
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that a system thread generated an exception that the error handler did not catch.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: saappctl.sys (Application Whitelisting Driver, ).
Google query: saappctl.sys SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
I restarted the PC again and it went fine.
I opened SecureAPlus and it says I am Up To Date.
But when I clicked to update anyway, I got this message :
Your software has been updated. A reboot is required.
So I rebooted again. But it still gives me the same message.
Isky:
Hi Maupassant,
To help us investigate the matter. Can you send the 'MEMORY.DMP' dump file via https://transfer.pcloud.com/ and send to secureaplus@secureage.com
Thank you!
Isky:
Hi Maupassant,
We have received your file. Our team will look into the matter and refer back when we have any updates. Cheers :D
Isky:
Hi Maupassant,
Our team is currently looking into the matter. However, we kindly seek your assistance in sending us the whitelist2.sa file.
The file can be found at c:\windows\system32\drivers\whitelist2.sa
Do compress and send us the file through https://transfer.pcloud.com/ as you did earlier.
We also recommend that after sending us the file, you could try to re-install SecureAplus as it could mitigate the problem in the interim period.
Maupassant:
I'm gonna do better than this.
I have Macrium Reflect installed, so I am sending you the whitelist2.sa file before the crash and after.
Just by comparing the two sizes, you know something is wrong.
I had to whitelist many files since the crash happened ...
