Apex and .zip files

I take note of the fact that SecureAPlus Apex is listed by VirusTotal as one of the engines on its extensive list.

Today I sent a .zip file to VirusTotal today for checking. I was startled to see that SecureAPlus Apex reported it cannot evaluate this type of file.

QUESTION: I download a lot of .zip files from time to time. How does SecureAPlus determine if those files are safe or not when Apex can't deal with .zip?

SecureAPlus APEX will scan if the files are extracted.
While using SecureAPlus, during the executing of the new files, there is an additional check by SecureAPlus Application Whitelisting.
