Import/Export Trusted Certificate
« on: August 05, 2014, 06:38:09 AM »
I think it was already propesed in somewhere, but I forgot where it was.
Now I removed many vendors whoes software I'll never use from the list.
But if I move to new computer, I have to do same thing again, which is quite troublesome.

So please consider adding import/export feature for Trusted Certificate list.

Hi Yuki, actually, there is already an export option. You can find it in the Application Whitelisting advanced settings.

For more information, you can refer to SecureAPlus Installation Guide, "Chapter 4 - Installing Application Whitelisting with Whitelist Gold Image". You can view or download a copy from https://secureaplus.secureage.com/Main/secureaplus_user_manuals.php.

That also imports whitelist database.
But new machine will have completely different files.
I want to import/export trusted certificates list only.

I see. We don't have the feature to just import certificate but I don't think we will create a feature for it until we see there are a lot of users requesting for it. Hope you will understand.

But you can still use the import whitelist to achieve what you want to do. Simply follow these steps:

1. Install SecureAPlus as per normal, and let the initial full system scan to finish scanning.
2. Import the data. This will import the whitelist database and the certificates. Don't worry it won't over-write the existing whitelist because it is using "append mode".

Hope this helps.

But how about old whitelist entry which is not exist on my new machine?
I don't want to have any whitelist which is not in my current PC.
Well, I remember this is already asked by some wilders member in very early stage of SAP, but sorry I forgot the answer.
Also it might be useful for other people here.

I have actually shared with the Wilders members what are our ongoing and upcoming task, http://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/secureaplus-freemium.350914/page-40

"Our focus for the next few months:

1. Major focus: To build up the logs and Whitelist management in SecureAge Management Server for Enterprise. This should be ready in about 3 months' time. Once it is ready, we will invite interested beta testers to test it.
2. Based on some of the previous request, we will also be working on a feature to compact the whitelist for SecureAPlus. This will remove the old whitelist and reduce the whitelist size.
3. A webpage to submit the false positive.
4. Other enhancements."

Compacting the whitelist is one of tasks that we are going to do.

Thanks, I'll wait for those.
(Maybe I can't test Management Server 'cause I only have 1 PC & 1 Windows' license currently.)
