Running SAP as a standard user (non-admin)?
« on: April 30, 2015, 10:47:10 AM »
Hi, Installed on win8.1, I run as a standard user, not as admin, when I try and open a non-signed exe I get "A required privilege is not held by the client" and no option to run as admin or prompt for admin credentials..

I would prefer (and recommend) that all users use LUA but this makes it tricky. Is it normal that they have to right click, run as admin for any non-signed or whitelisted exe?

Hi, for trusting a new application, only trusted accounts are authorized to do so. A trusted account is not necessary an admin account, it can be a standard user account. To to this, first you have to logon as an administrator, click on SecureAPlus tray icon to open the main UI, and go to Settings. Select "Manage User Rights", and add your user name into the "Trusted Users" list. The details can be found in the user guide (click on help or download it from http://www.secureaplus.com/Main/resource/SecureAPlus3.3UserGuidev2.10.pdf), on page 76, 5.1.5 Manage User Rights.
